This is an interview among individuals about food wastage in Singapore. The first respondents is 23 years old student who is studying in Singapore. This interview is to determine how much knowledge and behaviour of a consumer towards food wastage reducing.
1. Do you think food portions served by food outlets in Singapore are too large? Can you always finish a single-portion food?
Yes, I think that food portion serve by food outlets in Singapore iare actually quite large, and not every time I can finish the food.
2. What is your habit in ordering food in restaurants?
Usually I will order just enough for myself, but then I will try and finish it first. If I am still hungry, I will add more.
3. Do you practice any habits to reduce food wastage?
Yes, I do practice a way to reduce food wastage. For example, if I cannot finish a certain food, I will tapau (take away), and put it in the fridge. So, whenever I feel hungry, I will heat the food and eat it.
4. Are you aware that Singapore produces 763,100 tonnes of food wastage per year, equivalent to 51,100 garbage trucks?
No, I do not know that Singapore produce a lot of food wastage.
5. Are you aware of any food wastage management programs available in Singapore?
Nope, I did not have any idea about the food wastage management.
